This is a perfect example for a trapiche spinel pseudomorph after sapphire, as you can see the center is still a blue sapphire crystal surrounded by the more reddish spinel, which still shows the trapiche pattern of the former corundum. One side has been polished the other is a natural grown face .Very hard to find such specimens!
