The marble is very hard and the crystal was carved out of the matrix in the Vietnam typical way. In difference to the Burmese spinel crystals the matrix is much harder, the Burmese specimens can be even found in very soft crystalline calcite.
This is a well sized fine reference specimen for this locality!
