Mineral: | Kyanite (Disthene) | Chemical Formula: | Al2SiO5 | Size: | 60,8 x 12,7 x 3,3 & 49,4 x 10,9 x 10,0 mm | Weight: | | Transparence: | transparent - translucent | Quantity: | | Origin: | Moe Nyin, Kachin State, North- Burma (Myanmar) | Here you get two Kyanite or Disthene crystals, the bended one is doubly terminated the other seems to have just one terminated side. The more interesting specimen is of course the rounded crystal; typical sign for the metamorphic origin of this mineral, cause tectonic movement, the crystal was stressed without breaking a nice interesting specimen.
