Mineral: | Chondrodite / Spinel | Chemical Formula: | (Mg,Fe2+)5(SiO4)2(F,OH)2 / MgAl2O4 | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | transparent - translucent | Quantity: | | Origin: | Oh Saung Taung, Le-Oo (Le U), west of Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) | Here you get two Chondrodite crystals with good luster and undamaged shape together with a intact spinel crystal in matrix. I still see these specimens sometimes sold as Norbergite, this is not Norbergite!! The bigger crystal has at one side a tiny cleavage area, there is also another two crystals but only partly terminated. Furthermore they are smaller spinel and chondrodite crystals deeper imbedded in the translucent calcite.
