Mineral: | Phenakite | Chemical Formula: | Be2SiO4 | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | | Quantity: | | Origin: | Panthahole mine, close to Mt.Gaba Ant Bwe Taung (Ant Pywe Taung), northeast of Mogok, Molo quarter, Momeik Township, Burma (Myanmar) | Here you get a real rarity a Phenakite crystal with that size, shape and transparency is hard to get. The prism faces disclosing the angular striation and the head shows the typical "twin notch". The phenakite deposit in Molo is almost depleted and if some pieces are found they never reach the size form former times and the quality. Phenakites from Burma are unique for there perfect shape and showing the beautiful twinning. Great piece!!
